Welcome to Year 6.

Welcome to year 6.

This term we are exploring ideas linked to the book ‘If the World were a Village.’ We will be considering ourselves as global citizens and how we can help make the world a better place for all.

Year 6 will be going swimming every Tuesday up to Christmas and after the October half term we will be going to the gym on a Thursday afternoon.

The expectation in year 6 is that children start to become more responsible for their own learning in readiness for the transition to high school next year, we will be developing a growth mindset within the class to support this.

Children are expected to bring in their book bags every day and homework is due in on a Thursday. It is essential that year 6 pupils are reading regularly at home and practicing their times tables.

Year 6 have also started a blog, where the children share the learning they have done each week. Please pop along, have a look and leave a comment. If you need the link and password again I can send it home.

If you have any concerns or want a chat about your child’s learning in year 6 please feel free to contact me or pop in before or after school.
