Within Year 4 we are encouraging the children to become more independent in their learning through the use of challenges which are linked to the topic chosen in class. This year we are also encouraging the children to use HWB and Google classroom for daily tasks and for their weekly spellings/homework for them to extend their learning.
Healthy Snack-
This year, in year 4 we are encouraging the children to bring in healthy snacks Monday to Thursday and have a treat day on Friday. Healthy Snack can be fruit/vegetables.

Autumn Term 2
We are continuing with our topic Cynefin. This part of the term we have been looking at Castles and how invaders would attack. We have also been looking at forces to help us understand that they are continuously around us such as Gravity and air resistance. The children had a very special guest in World of Work week, Mr Rooney come to talk to us about his job as a Software Engineer.
The children have been researching Castle from the past to the present and exploring what has changed during the different time periods. We have also been looking at ‘What makes an excellent Welsh cake recipe’ and what key elements are needed in a recipe.

Autumn Term 1
Our class topic is Autumn term is Cynefin. We have already explored lots of Welsh Myths and Legends such as ‘The Legend of Gelert’ and ‘The Lady of the Lake’. The children have been working very hard at recreating these stories in different ways such as story board and using Scratch on the Chrome Books. Through learning about Welsh Myths and Legends we have discovered Welsh Folklore music and how important it is to learn about past music.
