ALN

Here at St Anne’s, we pride ourselves on our inclusive ethos and our belief that every child is an individual in our care.

We work closely with a number of agencies to ensure that every pupil is having their needs met and that any additional support that is required is in place for that child.

I am the schools ALNCO which means Additional Learning Needs Co-Ordinator and my role is to ensure that every child in our school is working to the best of their ability.

As a school we aim to form close partnerships with parents and work closely with them to ensure their child’s education is the best it can be. When your child has an additional need, it can be a worrying and daunting time, but I want to assure you that together we can make a difference.

I work very closely with parents offering them support and guidance if their child requires the help of outside agencies or needs referrals to health departments etc.

When your child is recognised as requiring additional support, we will contact you and ask for you to come in and have a meeting with your child’s class teacher and myself. We will explain our concerns and what we intend to do to move forward. You will be kept informed at all steps of the way and we will seek your agreement before any decisions are made. The door is always open for you to come and chat if you have a concern.

Equally if you feel your child has an additional need that has not been recognised in school, you may wish to discuss that with me, and we can look at ways to assess this together.

Please take time to read the ALN guidance for parents that is on our website as this explains your rights as a parent and how the process works.

Please feel free to ask any questions or raise any concerns with me by calling the school to make an appointment on 01978 261623 or by emailing us on mailbox@stannespri.wrexham.sch.uk
