At St Anne’s Catholic Primary School, we believe that ‘Christ’s Light Shines Through Our Learning’ and that all our decisions must be guided by this belief. Last academic year, St Anne’s created a student led Faith Council.
Our Faith Council strongly believes in promoting the school’s vision and are great role models to the rest of the school. Members of the team represent their peers in issues connected to REVE, prayer, collective worship, church services and spirituality.
Our Faith Council is made up of two children from each class and is led by Miss E Davies. We hold regular Faith Council meetings where we discuss our activities and plan for future projects. We believe in having a powerful pupils’ vice and encourage the children to think of their own ideas and how to promote our school values and vision.
This year the faith council is made up of Savannah, Stefany, Nancy, Tima, Osian, Nadia, Jim, Kew and Eliza,
Autumn 2024
This term we have been involved in organising the school Harvest Festival. We designed posters for around the school and the website asking for donations for the local food bank. We displayed the food in the hall and helped pack it up ready to be delivered.
We also worked in pairs to plan, prepare and deliver class Celebrations of the Word about All Souls Day. We gave every child a leaf to write about someone they would like to remember and displayed them in the school foyer.
On the last day of term we led the school’s annual Carols Around the Wreath, telling the story of the Journey to Bethlehem.
Spring 2024
This term has been very busy for our Faith Council. We have joined our parish family for Mass and afterwards a chat and cake. We also invited our friends who are part of the Guiding and Scouting Families to celebrate World Thinking Day in School. They came in their uniform and took part in a special celebration together.
