Eco Council

Our Eco Council comprises of elected members from each class (from Year 2 onwards) and is coordinated by Mrs Griffiths and Mrs Blackwell, with meetings  held every fortnight.

We have completed our annual Environmental Review and have created our Action Plan. This year and we are focusing on saving energy and increasing biodiversity within our school grounds.

We are proud to have achieved our second Green Flag Award from Eco Schools Wales and are looking forward to continuing our fantastic work throughout the coming year.

Our Eco Council for 2023/24

Eco Council have been really busy…

We led a whole school assembly to let everyone know what we have done so far, our plans for this year and how to get involved.

We have also been on a litter pick in our local community…we collected lots of litter and registered it with Keep Wales Tidy.

Switch Off Fortnight

Our Eco Council did a fantastic job encouraging everybody to save energy during Switch Off Fortnight…daily audits were conducted to monitor how many lights and appliances had been left on when nobody was using them!

Green Day

We all enjoyed our Green Day…we renewed our Eco promises and learnt lots about helping to look after God’s wonderful world.

Recycling in Year 6

Year 6 have been busy collecting their old Christmas cards…they have made them into beautiful gift tags ready to use again next year!

Eco Litter Pick

Eco Council have been on another litter pick in our local community…we collected two bags of rubbish and even found a £10 note! We decided to buy a CAFOD World Gift of “Wonderful Worms” which will help vulnerable farmers around the world to grow more crops.

Eco Council Workshop

Eco Council attended an on-line Eco workshop “Our Voice, Our School, Our World” with over 30 other Eco Councils across Wales. We enjoyed listening to lots of different ideas and sharing our plans too…Natan spoke to share our Action Plan and the progress we have made so far!
