Our Eco Council for 2024/25
Our Eco Council comprises of elected members from each class (from Year 2 onwards) and is coordinated by Mrs Griffiths and Mrs Blackwell, with meetings held every fortnight.
We have completed our annual Environmental Review and have created our Action Plan. This year and we are focusing on saving energy and promoting biodiversity within our school.
We are looking forward to continuing our fantastic work throughout the coming year and aim to apply for our third Eco Schools Green Flag award in the summer of 2025.

Our Eco Council for 2023/24
Eco Council have been really busy…
We led a whole school assembly to let everyone know what we have done so far, our plans for this year and how to get involved.
We have also been on a litter pick in our local community…we collected lots of litter and registered it with Keep Wales Tidy.
Switch Off Fortnight
Our Eco Council did a fantastic job encouraging everybody to save energy during Switch Off Fortnight…daily audits were conducted to monitor how many lights and appliances had been left on when nobody was using them!
Green Day
We all enjoyed our Green Day…we renewed our Eco promises and learnt lots about helping to look after God’s wonderful world.
Recycling in Year 6
Year 6 have been busy collecting their old Christmas cards…they have made them into beautiful gift tags ready to use again next year!
Eco Litter Pick
Eco Council have been on another litter pick in our local community…we collected two bags of rubbish and even found a £10 note! We decided to buy a CAFOD World Gift of “Wonderful Worms” which will help vulnerable farmers around the world to grow more crops.
Eco Council Workshop
Eco Council attended an on-line Eco workshop “Our Voice, Our School, Our World” with over 30 other Eco Councils across Wales. We enjoyed listening to lots of different ideas and sharing our plans too…Natan spoke to share our Action Plan and the progress we have made so far!
Wildflower Planting
Eco Council have been busy gardening during their own lunchtime. We weeded, tidied and planted our wildflower seeds and are looking forward to another spectacular display in the summer which will encourage pollinators into our school!
Eco Litter Pick
Eco Council have undertaken another successful litter pick in our local community…we collected two bags of litter which we registered with Keep Wales Tidy.
Eco Gardening
Eco Council have had another busy lunchtime! They have been gardening in our school grounds with lots of help from their friends and were keen to show them how to encourage wildlife into our school grounds.
Saving Water Week
Eco Council did a fabulous job inspiring the whole school to save water during “Saving Water Week”. We monitored how much water we used and, with everyone’s help, were able to reduce our usage by 17%!
Eco Council Workshop
Eco Council attended another Eco Schools Wales workshop “Our Voice, Our School, Our World.” We enjoyed sharing our findings from “Saving Water Week” and our work was commended by Tim Wort, Education Manager for Eco Schools Wales.
Eco Litter Pick
Eco Council took part in another litter pick the local community…the last pick of the school year! Two bags of litter were collected and registered with e Count Cymru.
