Welcome to year 6!
This term we are investigating “How is our World changing?” We will have the opportunity to explore different topics within this starting with Autumn, as well as climate change, renewable energy, human rights and festivals, as we get closer to winter.
We will be focusing on number work in maths including place value and column addition and subtraction. It is really important all year 6 pupils practice their times tables at home as this will be the basis for a lot of maths in year 6.
PE days are Wednesday and Friday and this term we are asking children to come into school wearing their PE kit. Please make sure this is appropriate to the weather.
Children will need to have a reading book and their reading record in school every day and it is important that they are encouraged to read a variety of texts at home.
Please sign up to the year 6 Seesaw, class specific messages will be put on there as well as examples of the children’s work. All parent and learners codes have been sent home.
Please be reassured that we are doing everything to keep your child safe in school as well as having an enjoyable learning experience. Homework is reading and times tables every week, and additional homework will be put on Google Classroom which is accessed through HWB. All children have their login details for HWB and Google classroom.
If you have questions or need to speak to me, please contact the school office to arrange a phone call back.
