Welcome to year 6!
This term our topic is “Civilizations” with a focus on the Romans in Britain and different types of Government. We will be investigating forces in science and continuing to develop fluency in Welsh and basic Spanish.
We will be focusing on number work in maths including place value and column addition and subtraction. It is really important all year 6 pupils practice their times tables at home as this will be the basis for a lot of maths in year 6.
Year 6 have swimming on a Tuesday morning up until Christmas, the bus leaves at 9.05am so please be prompt to school.
Children will need to have a reading book and their reading record in school every day and it is important that they are encouraged to read a variety of texts at home.
Please sign up to the year 6 Seesaw, class specific messages will be put on there as well as examples of the children’s work. All parent and learners codes have been sent home.
Homework is reading and times tables every week, any additional homework will be put on Google Classroom which is accessed through HWB. All children have their login details for HWB and Google classroom.
