Year 6 / Blwyddyn Chwech

Welcome back year 6!

This term our topic is “Our Planet” and we will be exploring all things about Earth including; Space and the Solar system, Polar regions and explorers, the oceans and the impact of plastic, as well as global warming and renewable energy. Hopefully we will be able to go on some trips to support our learning later in the term.

In maths we are learning about negative numbers, area and volume as well calculating Fractions, decimals and percentages. PE will be netball and pilates for the first half term, please make sure you are waiting correct and appropriate PE kit. In Welsh we will continue to practise speaking about ourselves and others and begin to learn past tense. Our topics in RE include looking at the Sacrament of Eucharist and Lent.

Please check Seesaw for any messages from school and also to see what we have been learning and making in class, you can also use seesaw to contact me. School dinners need to be chosen, and paid for, on parent pay.

There is weekly maths homework set on My maths, as well as spellings and daily reading, children need to bring their reading book and reading record into school every day.

I’m looking forward to a fun filled Spring term!

Miss Kirk
